My Story

 

With an expertise in strategy, operations, international supply chains, radical design, team & project management and problem solving, I have decided to fully dedicate my skillsets to confronting the climate crisis.

My career originated in the luxury fashion industry and global manufacturing, and in 2020 I began working to solving global problems presented by the pandemic, scaling a business from $0 to $180M in a year.It’s time for all hands on deck to address climate change and preserve our natural ecosystems, and I’m grateful to be aligning my profession, passion and purpose.

Laura is a design scientist doing her part to bring forward Buckminster Fuller’s design science revolution, which posits that the key principle holding back our society is in not recognizing “nature as technology.” With a background in metals and an expertise in operations, strategy, scaled manufacturing, international supply chains, radical design, problem solving, and project management, Laura has decided to put those skills towards designing natural technologies to combat climate change until she feels our Spaceship Earth is back on the right trajectory.Laura is on the advisory board of the Buckminster Fuller Institute, and most recently was working on solving global logistics problems presented by the pandemic, scaling a business from $0 to $180M in 1 year. The feeling of working on solving pressing problems and the dire need to develop solutions to climate change drew her to MetalPlant.

Fun Fact: Laura’s career originated in working with metals to create wearable art designs that were worn by the likes of Beyonce, Donald Glover, Billie Eilish and Erykah Badu.
